Model turned actress turned treat!, Rebecca Dayan is adding artist to her already impressive resume. Dayan, who has sketched since she was a child, started painting watercolors just two years ago. Since then her watercolor portraits have been published in the likes of L’Officiel Hommes and UNEMPLOYED magazine. This month Dayan has taken residence at the live-in Catherine Ahnell Gallery in New York City, leading up to her debut solo show entitled ASSUMPTION. Dayan spent the first week of her residency photographing an array of subjects imitating classic religious works of art in an erotic or sexual manner. These photographs will then be the basis for the series of large-scale watercolor paintings Dayan will debut on September 8th with the opening of her exhibition. The show is located at the Catherine Ahnell Gallery (66 Grand Street, New York, NY 10013) and will be open to the public through October 11th.
